Regional Water Authority Is Prepared For Tropical Storm Isaias

In response to the tropical storm forecast for today, the Regional Water Authority (RWA) is reminding customers to stay safe before, during and after the storm. Although no water issues are expected, RWA customers are encouraged to sign up for the RWA’s reverse-911 system, CodeRED, which is used throughout the year to distribute alerts about drinking water service, when warranted.

West River Chainsaw Mystery Solved

The “whodunit”in the woods by the West River is now a “hedidit.”

Nature lovers had wondered who was the mystery chainsaw-wielder who had cut three steps into a toppled tree in oder to make a path passable in the West River Open Space trails.

RWA Offering Financial Assistance to Residential And Business Customers Impacted By COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic placed an unexpected financial strain on families and businesses around the state, making it difficult to meet basic expenses. The Regional Water Authority (RWA) encourages customers to ease their financial burden by seeking assistance through the company’s Residential Water Assistance Program. In recognition of the unique challenges facing many people, the RWA is temporarily making this program available to more residential customers. In addition, it is provisionally expanding the program to commercial and industrial customers.

RWA Requests Customers Reduce Water Use By 10%

The Regional Water Authority (RWA) is asking all of its customers to conserve water and to reduce their water use by 10 percent. As a result of the prolonged hot and dry weather conditions, and many more people working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the RWA has seen an unprecedented 60 percent increase in water use during the past week. This higher-than-normal system demand has resulted in some customers experiencing discolored water intermittently over the past several days.
