Consumer Alert: Always Ask For A Company ID

The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) issued a reminder today to consumers to always ask for an employee identification card if someone comes to their door claiming to be from the water company. This reminder is a result two incidents where two men posed as water company employees to attempt to gain access to homes on Cloudland Road and Bowen Road in North Haven on Wednesday, April 23.

Construction Delays Possible On Whitney Avenue

Construction begins this month on the installation of a new water main along Whitney Avenue. The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (SCCRWA) will be installing the new main to increase its ability to deliver water to the northern section of its water system. The new main will run along Whitney Avenue from just north of Lawrence Road to just south of Tuttle Avenue.

3-Pronged Approach to Protecting Drinking Water

Last month, water consumers in the Charleston, West Virginia area were unable to use their tap water due to a chemical spill into the Elk River. The river is the sole source of drinking water for over 300,000 residents in nine counties in West Virginia. Could something similar happen to the RWA’s sources of water?

Damaged Water Line – Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael Campus, Chapel Street, New Haven

A contractor working on a sewer line damaged a fire service line at Yale New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael Campus on Chapel Street this afternoon. In order to repair the water line, it was necessary to shut down fire service and water (domestic) service to a portion of the hospital and to one building at 330 Orchard Street.
