Beware of New Water Meter Phone Scam

The Regional Water Authority (RWA) is asking Greater New Haven area residents to be suspicious if they receive a phone call asking for money to change their water meter. As part of the RWA’s multi-year Advanced Metering Infrastructure program that is deploying the water industry’s latest metering technology, the meter upgrade is free to our customers. RWA and our contractor – Contract Callers, Inc. (CCI) – are NOT making these calls. If residents receive such a call, they should hang up and call the RWA at 203-562-4020 and their local police department.

RWA Releases 2016 Water Quality Report

During this Drinking Water Week (May 7-13), the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) has issued its 2016 Consumers’ Annual Report on Water Quality. A federally mandated “report card” designed to educate consumers on what is in their drinking water, the RWA’s water continues to meet or is better than the water quality standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Connecticut Department of Public Health (CTDPH).

RWA Continues to Invest in Drinking Water Infrastructure

New Haven, CT, March 30, 2017 – The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) is at the forefront in maintaining its water system infrastructure to deliver high quality, reliable drinking water. In Fiscal Year 2016, more than $27 million was invested in water treatment and distribution, aging pipeline replacement, watershed protection and land management, and other improvement projects including cyber security. The RWA plans to spend approximately $28 million in Fiscal Year 2017 to continue enhancing system reliability, water quality, upgrading metering systems and protecting sensitive data.
