RWA Continues to Invest in Drinking Water Infrastructure

New Haven, CT, March 30, 2017 – The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) is at the forefront in maintaining its water system infrastructure to deliver high quality, reliable drinking water. In Fiscal Year 2016, more than $27 million was invested in water treatment and distribution, aging pipeline replacement, watershed protection and land management, and other improvement projects including cyber security. The RWA plans to spend approximately $28 million in Fiscal Year 2017 to continue enhancing system reliability, water quality, upgrading metering systems and protecting sensitive data.

Regional Water Authority Kicks Off Advanced Metering Infrastructure Program in Cheshire and Wolcott

New Haven, CT, January 6, 2017 – Regional Water Authority (RWA) customers in Cheshire and Wolcott will be the first in the RWA’s water district to have the water industry’s latest metering technology installed when the RWA kicks off its new Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) program this month. The system will allow the RWA to accurately read customers’ water meters by securely transmitting a low-powered signal from an AMI endpoint, a small device connected to the meter, back to the RWA’s office.

November 7, 2016 – New Haven, Conn. – With persistent dry weather and continued drought conditions, the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) is asking all of its customers to continue to conserve water and to step-up their voluntary measures to 15%. On October 11, the company requested that all RWA customers voluntarily reduce their water use by 10%.

Regional Water Authority Calls For Water Reductions

New Haven, CT, October 11, 2016 – Persistent dry weather and the National Weather Service’s extended outlook for continued drought conditions in our region have prompted the Regional Water Authority (RWA) to ask its customers to reduce their water use by 10 percent.
