Linda Discepolo, South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, was recently appointed to the Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) Foundation Board.
Discepolo brings her extensive leadership in finance and business acumen to the SCSU Foundation. In her role as the RWA’s Executive Vice President and CFO, Discepolo’s responsibilities include accounting, budget management, strategic planning, risk and business development, as well as the oversight of the service, information technology and asset management divisions. Discepolo was part of the RWA senior management team that conceived and developed a first-of-its-kind bachelor’s degree in Utility Management at SCSU. The unique degree program provides students with the training necessary to fill projected managerial job openings at utilities in our area.
“We are pleased to welcome Linda Discepolo to our Foundation team,” said SCSU Foundation Board Chairman David R. McHale. “She has an excellent history of leadership and will bring a valuable business perspective to our Foundation’s purpose to invest and administer gifts and financial resources for the benefit of all programs at Southern.”
“I’m honored to join the SCSU Foundation Board,” said Discepolo. “I look forward to supporting the Board in helping to guide the Foundation, and contributing to the future success of the University.”
Discepolo joined the RWA in October 2009 as Vice President of Business Planning, Development and Finance. She gained her utility experience at the Aquarion Water Company, one of the 10 largest investor-owned companies in the United States. Discepolo has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Quinnipiac University in Hamden and an MBA from the University of New Haven.
