New Foundation Established in Memory of RWA Immediate Past President & CEO

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Jan. 7, 2026 — The Regional Water Authority (RWA) today announced the establishment of the Larry Bingaman – RWA Foundation, a memorial foundation created to honor the legacy, values, and community spirit of its immediate past President and CEO, Larry Bingaman.

The Larry Bingaman – RWA Foundation will concentrate its efforts on organizations and programs that achieve broad, sustainable change within the communities served by the RWA. This initiative will continue the community support work of the not-for-profit water utility, specifically honoring Mr. Bingaman’s legacy of civic engagement and philanthropic impact.

“Larry’s unwavering spirit of service inspired the creation of this new foundation,” said RWA Interim President & CEO Sunder (Sunny) Lakshminarayanan. “During Larry’s 15-year tenure at the RWA, he was a respected leader with a long list of business accomplishments, community service, and professional and civic accolades that charted the growth and success of the organization. The foundation is a tangible testament to Larry’s enduring legacy, and we are proud to continue his commitment and advocacy for education, the health of the environment, and inclusive community and economic growth.”
