Regional Water Authority Calls For Water Reductions

New Haven, CT, October 11, 2016 – Persistent dry weather and the National Weather Service’s extended outlook for continued drought conditions in our region have prompted the Regional Water Authority (RWA) to ask its customers to reduce their water use by 10 percent. The past weekend’s rains were not nearly enough to overcome the drought.

25th Anniversary Celebration of Regional Water Authority's Whitney Water Center Includes Mini-grants to Teachers

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the Whitney Water Center and to support good teachers doing good work, the Authority awarded five $500 mini-grants to educators in the region. The grants will enable teachers to try out creative teaching techniques and buy enriching teaching materials not provided for in their schools’ budgets. The project’s focus had to be environmental education, particularly about water.
