RWA Team Leader Recognized as ‘Customer Executive of the Year’

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sept. 7, 2023 – A member of the leadership team at the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA) has won a national industry award for innovation and dedication to customers.

The industry group Cloud for Utilities bestowed its 2023 Icon Award for Customer Executive of the Year on Premjith (“Prem”) Lakshman Singh, the RWA’s Vice President for Customer Care and Chief Information & Digital Officer.

Cloud for Utilities focuses on education, best practices, improving organizational success and the advancement of cloud business models in the utility industry. It announced the award at its Digital + Cloud Summit, held Aug. 29-31 in Los Angeles.

“I’m deeply honored to receive this award from Cloud for Utilities, an organization that has helped the RWA and many other utilities raise the bar for customer service as we adopt state-of-the-art technology to better meet our customers’ needs,” said Singh, a Farmington resident who joined the RWA in 2019.

RWA CEO Larry L. Bingaman said that Singh has championed the not-for-profit water utility’s efforts to leverage technology to improve the customer experience.

“Prem Singh has a unique talent for connecting customers’ needs with elegant solutions that can help us meet them,” Bingaman said. “He’s made a big impact, and I know he and his team have ambitious plans that will help us further elevate the customer experience in the years ahead.”

“Prem has proven himself an industry leader with a future-forward perspective on cybersecurity, operational efficiency, strategic planning and digital transformation,” said Nate Granzow, marketing officer at Itineris, the global technology company working with the RWA to upgrade their customer service and transaction systems. “He has also demonstrated an enduring commitment to customer-centricity and the wellbeing of his employees.”

The Icon Award for Customer Executive of the Year recognizes a utility leader who has done exemplary work on behalf of customers, according to Rick Cutter, Cloud for Utilities co-founder.
